"MY" Tomatoes

8x10 acrylic on board
this is the first time in years that i have been able to grow tomatoes.
i have tried all sorts of things to protect them from deer and bunnies and insects in the the past. nothing would work.
this year i planted them on the southwest side of the house in the dog yard.
i got tomatoes!! yeah

kelly pointed out that i had not posted any drawings
thanks kelly, here's my sister
p.s. the previous post will be more clear with the new title of turpentine in oaxaca

turpentine

down there is where i bought my first bottle of turpentine
i got it at house painting paint store
the second bottle was purchased at the Frieda Kahlo art supply store.
the reason i had to get two different bottles is because the the first one i got acted and seemed more like rubbing alcohol.
the next bottle was venician turpentine which is actually quite thick, pure larch tree sap. i mixed the two and was able to paint.

Oaxaca

this was done in approximately five to seven minutes
before the sunset i organized all my paints, this made me ready for the mad rush of trying to capture the colors of Oaxaca at night

workshop

i took another weekend from janis yow hindes
she has a fantastic grasp of the chemistry in colors
janis painted much of the painting, what she did is come back in and correct errors and bad habits. this was very informative, i dont see how i could have learned as well any other way.

needlepoint

the design for needlepoint came from a coaster i found a few years ago,
i keep it in my studio. seeing it during the holidays inspired me to make a small painting.
