i took another weekend from janis yow hindes

she has a fantastic grasp of the chemistry in colors

janis painted much of the painting, what she did is come back in and correct errors and bad habits. this was very informative, i dont see how i could have learned as well any other way.

needlepoint

the design for needlepoint came from a coaster i found a few years ago,

i keep it in my studio. seeing it during the holidays inspired me to make a small painting.

temperance river

a small study that i did to help me with a larger version of this painting.the large one is 30x40

in november i was in northern minnesota hiking the temperance river a few miles south of Grand Marais. the temperance emptys into lake superior just a couple hundred feet from the view above.

i did three poinsettas over the christmas/new year holidays

the first was an oil, then this acrylic. the last was a watercolor

they were all done in the same still-life box
