Playing

12x40" Acrylic, these 12x40's were so much fun. The learning curve was pretty active through out the process. Any time I learn new things to do with art/paint I'm happy.

White Koi

12x40" Acrylic. I love the contrast of the koi in the dark water. This was painted at the Carriage House Merchantile, where I did an Artist in Residence.

Thinking of France

In the mill house that we stayed at in Provence the windows could open all the way. It was like sharing the outside while inside. I think this one was about 18x24 on stretched canvas acrylic. Thinking of France,Silver Service, and Le Monde have all been sold.

Silver Service

The thought's while working on this one were primarily how can I make this realistic depiction more interesting. How can there be cool marks? 9x12 on stretched canvas acrylic

Le Monde

Someone out there likes coffee! Getting the look of a newspaper into this piece without too much detail was challengeing. 9x12 stretched canvas acrylic

Poppies

This painting is oil on an 8x10inch board. One of the things that was wonderful in France were the fields of poppies! We have poppies in Texas too. I had a few nice ones in my garden last year. Nothing came up this year.. probably the drought.

Peter Thortons Colors

You can see my hearts on both my facebook pages. greenrobin studio and janrobin green.

homage to mcneil

A year and half ago I did a long term substitute teaching gig at McNeil Highschool. The job was to take over for the drawing teacher. I was there from November through January.
The swooshing action that you see above was a technique that the students thoroughly enjoyed. When we finished their paintings were hung in a gallery case near the school offices.
Yes drawing was also taught, but only to the upper level classes. I had to teach art 1 and art 2 as well.

playing with paint and ink

A friend and I took a workshop in Houston from Peter Thornton(sp) a while ago. He said that if you make your calligraphy or art with red, black and gold it is sure to sell. I wonder if he is right?
